Privacy Policy — Agent Commerce MX

What this extension does

Agent Commerce MX is a Chrome browser extension that, when you visit a product page on MercadoLibre or Amazon Mexico, queries a public catalog of Mexican auto-parts retailers and displays alternative vendors who may carry the same or similar SKU. When you click "Buy via WhatsApp" or "Call vendor", the extension opens your existing WhatsApp/phone app with a pre-filled message addressed to the vendor.

What we collect

When you click a vendor-contact button in the widget, we log the following aggregate, non-personal click event:

• Timestamp of the click
• The vendor you contacted (vendor_id, e.g., vnd-mendoza)
• The product SKU and brand you were looking at
• The price the vendor lists vs the price on MeLi/Amazon
• The URL of the MeLi/Amazon product page (to understand context)
• Your browser's User-Agent string (technical, not personally identifying)

What we do NOT collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

• Your name, email, phone number, or any personal identifier
• Your IP address
• Your browsing history outside of MeLi/Amazon product pages
• The content of your WhatsApp conversations with vendors
• Payment information of any kind
• Cookies or any session-tracking identifiers
• Any persistent identifier that could link clicks to your identity

Why we collect what we do

Click event data is used only to:

• Quantify aggregate demand to specific vendors (e.g., "23 buyers asked about ACDelco Aveo filters in May") so we can negotiate formal partnerships and CSV synchronization
• Improve catalog ranking — popular SKUs surface first
• Diagnose technical issues with widget rendering

Who sees this data

Only the platform operator (Agent Commerce MX, contact below). Vendors see only the WhatsApp messages buyers manually choose to send them, never the underlying click-event log.

Data retention

Click events are stored on the backend server's filesystem. They are deleted automatically when the server's storage container is recycled (typically within days for our current setup, since we have no persistent database in MVP). When we migrate to persistent storage (planned for v1.0), aggregated counts will be retained indefinitely; raw click events will be deleted after 90 days.

Your rights

Because we collect no personal identifier, there is no way to associate clicks with you as an individual. There is no data to export or delete on a per-user basis. If you want to opt out of click tracking entirely, you can disable the extension via chrome://extensions/.

Third parties

The extension communicates only with the platform's own backend at agent-commerce-mx-api-d5iztbutma-uc.a.run.app (Google Cloud Run, in the US-Central1 region). It does not share data with vendors, advertising networks, analytics providers, or any other third party.

Permissions explained

• storage: stores user-configurable preferences (overlay enabled/disabled, custom API URL for dev) locally in your browser. Nothing transmitted.
• host_permissions for mercadolibre.com.mx and amazon.com.mx: lets the widget read product titles/prices from pages you visit, so we can search alternatives. We do not read any other site.
• host_permissions for agent-commerce-mx-api-d5iztbutma-uc.a.run.app: the backend the widget queries.

Qué hace esta extensión

Agent Commerce MX es una extensión de Chrome que, al visitar una página de producto en MercadoLibre o Amazon México, consulta un catálogo público de refaccionarias mexicanas y muestra vendors alternativos que pueden tener el mismo SKU o similar. Cuando haces click en "Comprar por WhatsApp" o "Llamar al vendor", la extensión abre tu app de WhatsApp/teléfono con un mensaje prerellenado dirigido al vendor.

Qué recolectamos

Cuando haces click en un botón de contacto de vendor, registramos el siguiente evento de click agregado, sin información personal:

• Timestamp del click
• Vendor contactado (vendor_id)
• SKU + marca del producto
• Precio del vendor vs precio en MeLi/Amazon
• URL de la página MeLi/Amazon (para contexto)
• User-Agent del navegador (técnico, no personalmente identificable)

Qué NO recolectamos

NO recolectamos, almacenamos ni transmitimos: tu nombre, email, teléfono, IP, historial de navegación fuera de MeLi/Amazon, contenido de tus conversaciones de WhatsApp con vendors, información de pago, cookies, ni ningún identificador persistente que pueda vincular clicks a tu identidad.

Para qué usamos esta data

• Cuantificar demanda agregada hacia vendors específicos (ej: "23 buyers preguntaron por filtros ACDelco para Aveo en mayo") para negociar partnerships formales y sincronización de catálogos.
• Mejorar ranking del catálogo — los SKUs más populares aparecen primero.
• Diagnosticar issues técnicos con el widget.

Tus derechos

Como no recolectamos identificadores personales, no hay forma de asociar clicks contigo como individuo. No hay data que podamos exportar o eliminar por usuario. Si quieres dejar de aportar a las métricas, deshabilita la extensión en chrome://extensions/.
